In Piemonte ci sono molte zone famose per la buona cucina e per i vini pregiati, come il Barolo, il Nebbiolo o la Barbera e il Moscato. Una di queste aree è il Monferrato, zona dell'astigiano, conosciuto per la storia, la qualità di vita e famosa per cibi come la bagna cauda, il tartufo e gli agnolotti.
In questo fantastico contesto, a 10 minuti da Asti, in mezzo alle colline, sorge il Golf Club Feudo d'Asti, campo 18 buche, disegnato da Graham Cooke. Ancora prima di arrivare si è rapiti dalla bellezza del paesaggio, dalle forme dolci e sinuose delle colline, in cui tutte le tonalità del verde incontrano l'azzurro del cielo.
Il campo è abbastanza impegnativo, bisogna essere precisi e l'aspetto fisico viene messo alla prova: il continuo sali e scendi è una delizia per gli occhi, ma può essere verso la fine del percorso, impegnativo per le gambe.
Tra le mie preferite c'è la buca 4, un Par 3 dall'alto, lungo circa 150 mt dai gialli: unisce l'emotività di un green decisamente in basso e la razionalità nella scelta del bastone. Bisogna fidarsi e ... bum si tira e si guarda dove si atterra.
Anche la buca 7, un Par 5 che i numeri dicono non essere tra le più difficili del percorso (è un hcp 17) è stupenda. Tee dall'alto, vista spettacolo. Il fairway continua a scendere in maniera lieve e aiuta il rotolo del primo colpo. Avvicinandosi al green, sulla sinistra, compare un laghetto, aggiungendo un po' di suspense all'approccio (meglio non guardarlo troppo).
In realtà per ogni buca si potrebbe scrivere una storia, come ad esempio alla 10, Par 4 in salita, dove il primo colpo è cieco e bisogna tirare verso il centro sinistra.
E' un percorso da provare, molto interessante, e offre stimoli ai giocatori esperti, ma è anche molto divertente per chi lo è meno.
Per chi abbina il golf alle vacanze, anche di pochi giorni, questo campo offre la possibilità di concedersi del relax e un life style ricco di qualità tipico del Monferrato, sotto tanti punti di vista. Consigliato!

In this gorgeous atmosphere, 10 minutes away from Asti, in the heart of the hills of Monferrato, the Golf Club Feudo d'Asti stays with a 18 holes course, designed by Graham Cooke, where the green of the hills meets the blue of the sky.
The course is quite demanding, you have to be consistent, accurate and the athletic preparation can be a factor at the end because of the many hills you walk during the 18 holes.
Among my favorite holes there is the 4, a Par 3 with a rised teeing area, 150 mt from the yellow starters. You have to match a rational choice of the club and the emotion to shot from on high. At the end...bum and you have to trust your shot.
The hole 7, a Par 5, not very difficult one (hcp 17), is amazing because of the view. The fairway continues to slightly climb down, helping the first shot, and closed to the green, at the left a small lake adds difficulty to the final approach.
Every hole can have a different story, as the 10, a uphill Par 4, where the first shot is blind and you have to shot center left.
It's a golf course to live, interesting, and stimulating for expert golfers and fun for higher handicap.
You can spend some days here, playing golf, enjoying the life style of the Monferrato area, where relax and quality life is a must have.
